Skip the Crowded Trains and Heavy Luggage

Traveling to Florence or the Tuscan countryside by public transport might seem easy, until you have to navigate the massive and chaotic Roma Termini station with heavy bags, deal with strict train schedules, and wait in long taxi lines once you arrive. If your destination is a secluded villa in Chianti or Siena, relying on slow regional trains and buses can easily ruin your first day of vacation.

With Trip2Rome, your Tuscan getaway begins the moment you step out your door.

Our professional English-speaking driver will pick you up directly from your Rome hotel lobby or FCO Airport arrivals. We handle your luggage and the highway traffic while you relax in a premium, climate-controlled Mercedes-Benz. No dragging bags, no station crowds, and no missed connections—just a smooth, scenic drive through the beautiful rolling hills of Umbria and Tuscany, arriving completely refreshed right at the doorstep of your Florence hotel or countryside villa.

The Journey: What to Expect

Your private transfer begins with a prompt pickup at your requested location (Rome Hotel, FCO Airport, or Civitavecchia Cruise Port). Once your luggage is safely loaded, we head north on the A1 Highway, leaving the hustle of the city behind as we drive through the beautiful landscapes of northern Lazio and Umbria.

Approaching Tuscany, the scenery transforms into the iconic Italian postcard: rolling green hills, endless vineyards, olive groves, and striking lines of cypress trees. Instead of stressing over fast-paced Italian highway driving, navigating unfamiliar roads, or dealing with rental car counters, you can sit back and simply enjoy the view in climate-controlled comfort.

Finally, we reach your destination, whether it's the heart of Renaissance Florence, a medieval hilltop town like Siena, or a secluded winery in Chianti. Historic Tuscan cities are notorious for their strict ZTLs (Restricted Traffic Zones) and impossible parking—but you won't have to worry about expensive fines or getting lost. Your professional driver navigates the complex streets effortlessly, bringing you and your luggage right to your hotel doorstep.

How long is the drive from Rome to Florence or Tuscany?

The direct drive from Rome to Florence takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on traffic. If your destination is a town in the Chianti region or Siena, the travel time may vary slightly. We highly recommend adding a 2-hour stop in Orvieto along the way to break up the journey, enjoy a great lunch, and turn a simple transfer into a memorable part of your vacation.

Will you drop us off directly at our hotel or countryside villa?

Yes, absolutely. Unlike trains or buses, our private transfer is a true door-to-door service. Our vehicles have the necessary permits to enter the Restricted Traffic Zones (ZTL) in the historic center of Florence and Siena without you getting any fines. If you are staying in a secluded countryside villa or farmhouse, our drivers are experienced in navigating rural Tuscan roads to bring you right to your doorstep.

Where will I meet my driver?

If arriving at Rome FCO Airport: Your driver will be waiting for you in the Arrivals Hall, holding a sign with your name. We monitor your flight status, so we will be there even if your flight is delayed. If departing from a Rome Hotel: Your driver will meet you directly in the lobby of your hotel at the scheduled time and assist you with your luggage.

How much luggage can we bring?

Our Alfa Romeo Tonale SUV can comfortably accommodate up to 3 large suitcases. If you are a larger family or traveling with extensive luggage, our 2026 Renault Trafic Passenger Van is the perfect choice, holding up to 8 passengers and easily fitting 8+ large suitcases plus carry-ons in its massive luggage compartment.

Do you provide child car seats?

Yes! The safety of your family is our top priority. We provide appropriate child car seats and booster seats completely free of charge. Simply let us know the ages of your children in the "Special Requests" section of the booking form, and we will have the seats pre-installed for you.
